5. Taking supplements is also a potentially useful step. Glucosamine and chondroitin both show evidence of helping cartilage avoid deterioration, at least to a degree. There are also two relatively new supplements that have shown promise in trials: A.S.U (unsaponifiable part of avocado and soybean), and hyaluronic acid (H.A.)

Notebook / journal shown to me by Bill at The Skiff. Helps you organise projects per quarter (13 weeks) within the scheme talked about elsewhere on the Best Self site. Not sure this is quite for me, but is an interesting way of using pre-printed notebooks for organising. Bill has two projects on the go within his notebook.

Editing software that can take video or audio, run it through a transcription service (including instructions on downloading a speech to text open source project that it can integrate with). Be very interesting to try this on a few podcasts. I have a feeling the results won't be great without the paid IBM API the page mentions (and even then, may not be great) but it'd be interesting to see where the tech has got to.

Alternative to applicationize.me, a couple of people at The Skiff recommended this. AKA "This service creates a Chrome Application from the URL of a website. This means you can then run it as an 'app', when it's really Chrome in the background. And, you can set up a copy in the dock / desktop."
